I am a believer—now what?
Now that you are a believer and are saved by the blood of Jesus, God wants you to get busy sharing the Gospel with others.
God does not want us to just sit on a church pew or hide in a closet but He wants you to be a Soul winning Force. There a many people that are lost just as you and I once were and God wants you go and tell those people about The Saving Power of His Son, Jesus. Just tell them, God will do the rest! Jesus wants all believers to be His Witnesses.
Luke 11:33 “No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a secret place or under a basket, but on a lamp stand, that those who come in may see the light.”;
Luke 8:16 “No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but sets it on a lamp stand, that those who enter may see the light”;
Jesus is telling us to let our light shine before men so that they may see our good works and glorify God. Go tell them the Good News and get busy building God’s Kingdom and winning the lost to Christ. Every day you wake up have winning a soul on your mind. You will become what you think about. If you think about winning souls regularly you will become a great soul winner.
Now God wants you to “go” and be a light to others that are in darkness as you once were. Do you think God wants you to retire to your favorite spot on the Church pew? No my friend, God wants you to take this Gospel message of Truth to as many others as you can.
We are living in the greatest time on Earth to share the Gospel. There are so many tools accessible to help us get the job done. Now that you are believer, God wants you to go out into the World and tell the Good News. Tell the lost, hurting, sick, backslidden, and those bound by sin that you have Good News for them. Tell them that you too where once lost by now you are found, you were blind but now you see. Let them know that when you heard about Jesus, you decided to give him a try and it was that best choice you ever made. Don’t be afraid to tell them because the time is short and many in the World are perishing even as you reading this, just go and do it!
Jesus said it this way, in Mark 15:16 “Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
The Earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, however the Lord needs soul winners to go out into the harvest fields and tell everyone they can about His saving power. Not only will He save them but He will transform them into a new creation and their old way of life will be passed away and all things will become new. One soul is worth more than anything is this dying World so think about Souls, Souls, and Souls for Jesus.
The bible teaches us this truth,
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he: Proverbs 23:7
So each day think about who God may bring across your path for you to tell them about Jesus. As you go about seeking someone to share the Good News of Jesus with, ask God to lead you to souls and He will do it gladly. Jesus’ Focus was always on souls. He was in the business of saving lost souls even from His youth.
Luke chapter 2: 42 And when He was twelve years old, they went up to Jerusalem according to the custom of the feast. 43 When they had finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother did not know it; 46 Now so it was that after three days they found Him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the teachers, both listening to them and asking them questions. 47 And all who heard Him were astonished at His understanding and answers. 48 So when they saw Him, they were amazed; and His mother said to Him, “;Son, why have You done this to us? Look, Your father and I have sought You anxiously.”; 49 And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”
Now Jesus wants you to be about your Father’s business of winning the lost to His Kingdom.
We often get people that want more teaching on their New Life in Christ Jesus. The info below is for them.
As a new believer, it is important that you focus on growing stronger in your relationship with the Lord Jesus. Jesus said in Matthew 11:29 “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” The Lord wants people to be saved and then He wants them learn about Him. The information below provides in-depth knowledge for those who are hungry to learn more about their New Life in Jesus Christ and desire to serve Him by winning souls.
Are you ready to get busy working for the Lord to see souls saved, Heaven rejoice and Hell defeated by the power of Jesus? If you said yes, read on my Friend!
Many people think that winning the lost to Christ is a job for the preachers and teachers only, but my friend that is entirely incorrect. Your pastors and overseers are there to intercede, feed and lead the flock of God with the Word of God, but without an active body of believers functioning as a team, the Church cannot reach its full potential. We all have an assignment and a calling from God. God wants us all to live a lifestyle that will attract others to Him by being a shining Light filled with the Love of Jesus. Our life’s mission should be to snatch as many souls from the pit of Hell as we can. How do we do this? By being watchful, ready and sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit so that when He provides us the chance to reach out to a lost soul, we seize the moment. Jude 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh
Right now someone is hurting and feeling alone and as though they have no real friends or family. There are so many people right now who feel misunderstood and some are even ready to give up on life. Seek them and tell them that Jesus loves them and He has a plan for their life. Satan is lying to them and telling them that no one cares, no one really loves them, they’ll never be worth anything, they will never be healed, they’ll never have joy and some believe these lies. Satan’s lies lead multiple millions of people into trying to take their own lives each year. Suicide results from people believing the lies of Satan that their life is ruined and things will never get better, but these are all lies and tricks of Satan. These people need someone to tell them the Truth of Jesus Christ. Jesus will not let the storms of life rage on forever no matter how bad things may seem. He will calm the storm and He will give them Peace. It should be all Christians desire to let God use them to help someone else find the Peace, Love, Joy and Hope that comes from knowing Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Our Churches are filled with people that are more spectators rather than active laborers in God’s vineyard. That’s why so many people in the Church find themselves dry, stagnate and burnout because they’re not reaching out to the lost souls all around them. When a Church operates like a robot and people go through the religious motions, it causes stagnation and burnout. In order for people in the Church to avoid or overcome burnout there must be a focus on winning the lost and aiding the afflicted. Burnout is really evidence that our Light or Fire has no oil to keep it going. The oil in our Lamps is supplied by the Holy Spirit and He supplies us with this oil as we seek God wholeheartedly, serve the suffering, poor and witness to the lost souls. Much service equals much oil and much oil equals a flame of Fire! Psalm 104:4 Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire: Matthew 25:3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
Truly serving God is not just about going to Church once or twice a week so that we Christians can just sit around socializing, admiring each other’s hats, dresses, suits and then hear a politically correct pep-talk. When Churches turn into social clubs they get lukewarm and cold. The gifts of the Spirit cannot operate in a faithless and dead environment because Faith without works is dead. Works, works and more works of service to others is what keeps the Holy Spirit’s power flowing in the Church like a mighty river. A Dead Church is acceptable for some who are stubborn, in sin and stuck in tradition but God is raising up a people that will not be satisfied with religious rituals because they want more of God’s Presence and they want to see His Power show up like He did in the book of Acts 2 1,2 & 43: 1 And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.
Many think that God doesn’t do today, what He did in the Bible days. They forget that God is the same Yesterday, Today and Forever. God still heals and does miracles but we must stir up the gifts! The Bible commands us to stir up the gift that is within us (2 Timothy 1:6). The Holy Spirit gives us gifts and these gifts lie dormant unless they are activated. When we share the Gospel with the lost, aid the afflicted and poor, it is challenges us and it stirs up those gifts. Many people that actively witness to others have a very energetic Spiritual life. You can actually feel the life-giving love of Christ oozing from their pores, smile, eyes and they are on fire for God. There are many gifts of the Spirit and all of those filled with the Holy Ghost have a Spiritual giant on the inside of them but too many in the Church are Spiritual couch-potatoes, lacking passion and energy. Stir up the gift within you my friend and go be a light in the midst of dark World. Your light must be shining to draw people closer to Jesus. Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Too many of us have a spectator faith rather than a laboring faith. God wants to put you to work dear one. Your life will be filled with meaning and purpose as you serve God by letting him use you to share Jesus with those around you. Where can I share? Anywhere you go! There are multitudes of people all around us, that we pass at the store, school, gas station and out to dinner. Just always be ready to let God use you to tell someone about Jesus. Jesus was filled with compassion when he saw the multitudes of people that wanted to know God in a deeper and personal way but they lacked true laborers to point them in the right direction. He needs us to go tell them that God loves them and He has a plan for their life if they will only just accept Jesus. Matthew 9:37 Jesus said to his disciples, “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” Remember how you were once lost and now you are saved. There are others who are just like you used to be but they lack someone to reach out to them and that’s why God needs laborers!
During Jesus’ lifetime on Earth, He went to the temple or synagogue but He also spent a good amount of His time out among sinners and the non-religious. Because of this, He was often criticized and persecuted by the religious leaders of His time who spent most of their time looking down on sinners, the hurting, the sick and the lost masses all around them. Jesus showed us that Church was not designed to be locked up in box behind closed door but the Church is suppose to go out into the World to infect and affect the lives of the lost with the Good News of Jesus Christ. We need to do what Jesus did. He was out among the people more often than not and He went for the purpose of leading people to repentance and salvation.
Now Jesus didn’t go around sinners to sin but rather to share the Gospel and win their soul. If you’re not going to share the Gospel with them and if you’re not going to be a Light so you can win their soul or if you go to party with them, that is unwise. Matthew 24:48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; 49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; 50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, 51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. God wants us to be pure vessels so that His Power can flow through us and touch the lives of others, that they may see the Christ in us and receive Him. Jesus went around sinners to win them to the Kingdom of Heaven and to show them the Way. That is now His mission for us, The Church.
All around us are those who are suffering, sin sick, and many of them know that they need direction but they don’t know which way to turn. Many do drugs and drink alcohol out of deep hurt. Tens of millions of people struggle with depression of some kind. Depression and anxiety often comes after a traumatic experience in their lives. They are trying to feel that emptiness in their soul with manmade and demonic vices like drugs, alcohol, promiscuity, pornography and other kinds of self indulgencies. God can heal them, save them and give them an Abundant Life! They are in need the Great Physician, Jesus Christ. Read what Jesus said: Luke 5: 31 And Jesus answering said unto them, They that are whole need not a physician; but they that are sick. 32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Who do people sin? Simply put, to feel pleasure. In order for us to witness effectively to people in sin we must have an understanding of what motivates people to sin. To understand sin, we must know that the basic need for pleasure is what drives people to sin. If sin didn’t feel good or bring pleasure no one would want it! However sin is only pleasurable for a season. Satan is the tempter that entices us to sin but he uses the lusts or cravings of our flesh to draw us away for God. James 1: 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Satan will use the flesh to draw us into sin but the choice is always ours. Whatever pleasures Satan temps you with will not last because it is only a temporary fix, not a permanent one. Sin is like fool’s gold or counterfeit money because it takes a wise and skillful person to see that it’s only a cheap imitation of the real thing.
Moses was wise because he left the pleasures of Pharaoh’s palace in Egypt to suffer with the Hebrews. Hebrews 11:25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. Moses left the pleasures of the palace in Egypt because he knew it was all a lie. When people realize that sin and earthly pleasures are hollow and empty lies, they too will forsake the old way and turn to Jesus. That is when you being a witnesses comes in handy because God needs wise people that were once in sin but now are free, to go lead others out of sin and bondage. Moses left Egypt first but God sent him back to Egypt to get his brothers and sisters that were still in bondage. The best witnesses are those who know the way out of sin and bondage and Jesus is Way! We overcome sin by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony.
The reason you need to know this is so that you can understand what motivates or drives people to sin and why some refuse to let sin go. The desire for pleasure is addictive and once people begin to feed those desires they grow, grow and grow until that pursuit for pleasure has become a demonic stronghold.
Sin is a lie because it cannot truly satisfy our deepest need for pleasure, which can only be found in God. Sin is a false and a short term way to satisfy the deeper hunger of the soul. Only God can truly quench the soul’s thirst and hunger. That is why when we keep sinning it takes us deeper and deeper into darkness until we are spiritually and morally bankrupt. Trying to satisfy our flesh is a pursuit for the foolish because the flesh can never have enough pleasure. Therefore sin is like chasing the wind because as we go after it, we can never grasp the true satisfaction that we seek and sin will ultimately take your heart away from God. That is why so many people in these Last Days want nothing to do with God and violence, murder and sexual immorality run rampant. Sin has darkened their heart. When the heart becomes dark that is dangerous and deadly because out of a dark heart comes every kind of evil. Proverbs 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: Never even trust in your own heart because the heart is like a glass, it will always be filled with whatever you put into it. Your heart is not good on its own, but if you want a good heart you must fill your heart daily with the Word of God. Then you’ll be filled with Truth and the Truth shall make you free from Satan’s web of deceit. Proverbs 28:26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool; But whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered. John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
What the devil doesn’t tell us is that when we sin, though it gives us pleasure, there’s always has a penalty and original sin with Adam and Eve is our greatest example of this. Never be afraid to teach against sin even though it is not politically correct. Why teach against sin? Because teaching against sin is a part of the Gospel and God wants people to know the truth. People need to know that sin kills and destroys; marriages, homes, health, innocence, prosperity, Churches, businesses, Nations, relationships, mental health, and lives. That is why God told Adam and Eve that if they sinned against His commands by eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they would die. Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. God told them the Truth but Satan used a serpent to lie to Eve. Genesis 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
Eve believed the lies of Satan and she sinned, then persuaded Adam to sin and then came the fall of mankind. There was no thorns, bad weather, sickness, pain, suffering, carnivores or death in the World until Adam and Even sinned. Adam and Eve lived hundreds of years after the fall but their sin allowed Satan to come into their lives wreaking havoc by stealing, killing and destroying the perfection they once had enjoyed in the Garden of Eden. Adam and Eve eventually did die physically but long before they died physically, they died spiritually. The wages of sin is sometimes slow approaching but unless it is dealt with by repenting and turning from sin, it will always cause death and devastation. However if people will repent, accept Jesus and live for Him, He will give them Eternal Life in God’s perfect Kingdom. Jesus came to restore what Adam lost in the Garden of Eden. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Satan loves to get people in sin but He does not tell them that they will have a price to pay for it and if they don’t repent and turn from their sin they will go Hell. In fact Satan is lying to people by telling them that Hell is not real, God will not punish sin and many other lies contrary to the Holy Bible. That is why God needs us to tell the truth because Satan is lying to people and leading them to Hell daily. If you are serving God then you should speak and teach what God’s Word says, not just part of the Word but all of it. It is important to teach people what sin really is, because people are destroyed for lack of Knowledge. Those who are taught in the Word must communicate that knowledge to others, so the hearers may know the truth and teach it to others. Once people have the knowledge they can see through the devil’s lies and take hold of the Truth of Jesus so that they can be made Free. Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: Galatians 6:6 Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.
God wants to give us pleasure but our flesh doesn’t want to wait to on God fulfill those desires. The nature of our flesh is to be impatient and selfish, that is why our flesh and Satan get along so well. Galatians 5:17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. As a Christian don’t beat yourself up or think you’re not saved because your flesh still desires to sin, all humans have these urges. As long as you live in a body of flesh you will have to bring your flesh under the control of God’s Word. 2 Corinthians 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
People who are Spiritual still have the same urges as any other human-being but they have learned not to let the flesh be in control. What the Apostle Paul said about his flesh is true about the nature of flesh of all men in Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but [how] to perform that which is good I find not. When the flesh is in control your Spiritual eyes go blind, your Spiritual ears can’t hear and that is how the devil is able to come in to steal, kill and destroy people’s lives. The fleshly or carnal mind is hostile toward God. We must all strive to master the lusts of the flesh because if you let your flesh run your life you’ll be serving sin and Satan but If you let the Spirit run your life you’ll reap life everlasting. Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
We were created for God’s pleasure and He wants us to choose Him as our pleasure. When we make God our pleasure, that is called delighting in the Lord. When we delight in the Lord, He will meet all our needs and even grant our heart’s desire. Psalm 37:4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. When people submit to God and make God their pleasure that is when God begins to pour out His Blessings upon them and show His favor upon their lives. Many people are trying to serve God and the flesh. That is called being double minded. James 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord 8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. Some people will serve God a little while and if things don’t go their way right away they will give up and go back to their old life of sin and rebellion. Sadly, this is why many ask don’t get the things they ask for because they are carnal minded and live for pleasure. NLT James 4:2 You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. 3 And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. As you live for God remember He is able to satisfy you in ways that carnal pleasures cannot even compare, just be patient and God will do what His Word promises.
That’s why David was so blessed of the Lord because David delighted in spending time with God. David was a man after God’s own heart. David’s greatest pleasure was in spending time with God. As you read the Psalms and the books of the Kings, Samuel and Chronicles you can see how David served the Lord with all His heart. David made God his pleasure and in return God gave David everything his heart desired. Read these verses and see how passionately and wholehearted David delighted in the Lord: Psalm 84:10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. Psalm 27:4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple. Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. 2 Samuel 6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 34:10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing. Psalm 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. We pray that you get the revelation that David had, which is that delighting in the Lord is the key to living a Blessed Life filled with Godly pleasures. When God is your pleasure you shall not lack any good thing!
Hebrews 11:6 teaches us that God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him! God loves to bless His children and great blessings will follow those who wholeheartedly serve the Lord. It is not until God becomes our pleasure, do we qualify for Him to grant us the great pleasures we desire. Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Make God your pleasure and delight in Him and then you will have good success in your home, health, job, finances, relationships and all that your heart desires. God cannot lie and we must stand on this Truth and help others to see.
If seeking pleasure is what motivates people sin, why would anyone stop sinning? The answer is simple, affliction. It is not until the practice of sin becomes too painful, do people seek to surrender and let it go. If you don’t think so, ask Jonah. Jonah kept on sinning by rebelling against the Lord’s command for Him to go to Nineveh and preach to the lost souls there. We know that not every trail is a chastisement, at times we do suffer demonic attacks for righteousness sake as the book of Job teaches, but Jonah wasn’t in the belly of whale for righteousness sake but for sin and rebellion. It wasn’t until God had a whale swallow him up and he found himself in the belly of the whale for three days and three nights did Jonah then repent and obey God. After his terrible “near death experience” in the whales belly, Jonah was ready to obey God! Jonah 2: 1 Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly, 2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice. 10 And the LORD spake unto the fish, and it vomited out Jonah upon the dry land.
We all can identify with Jonah because we’ve all sinned and rebelled against God, yet when we repent God is faithful and just to forgive our sins as He did Jonah. During the Jewish Holy Day Yom Kippur, the Jews read the entire book of Jonah and they all say “We are Jonah”, but so are we all. When we are in rebellion, practicing sin and our lives are in chaos and turmoil that is a Jonah experience. As you go out to witness for Jesus, you will run into a lot of people that are having a Jonah experience. They may not be physically in the belly of a whale but they will be afflicted; trapped, isolated, depressed, nowhere to turn, in pain and suffering and that is when they need someone to tell them that Jesus is the answer to their problem. Tell them that Jesus will rescue them out all their troubles and once they are rescued He wants them to live the rest of their life for Him.
My mother loves to read a poem titled “In the Valley Grow”. Thinking about it now, as I look back over the hardest moments in my life, I can see the spiritual growth that followed those tough times. It calls to mind this scripture Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. A Valley or Jonah experience helps us to grow and that growth is the good part that will last a lifetime. These kinds of trials will happen within our lifetime but they don’t last forever. A valley experience is not always because of sin, because the righteous will have trails at times too but regardless of the reason, the trial always teaches us something. The good news is that after the Valley always comes the Mountain top. We are not designed to stay in the Valley but we all have to go through it at some point in our lives in order to get to the next level or the Mountain Top. That is why David said in Psalms 23: “Yea thou I walk through the Valley. In order to get to the blessing, at times we have to walk through the Valley but God has a way of bringing the righteous out of every trial. He will use these experiences to bring us to a place of spiritual growth and blessings. Once we see how faithful God is to us it testifies that He can be Trusted.
He will give them this testimony: Psalm 40: 1 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. 3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. 4 Blessed is that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Jonah is not the only Servant of God in the Bible to experience the Lord’s correction but Miriam the sister of Moses (Numbers 12: 1-15), King David (2 Samuel Chapters 12-13), and others had times of correction in their lives. It is out of Love that the Lord chastises and corrects His Children. Proverbs 3:11 My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: 12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.
Most people will not change until they have become sick and tired of the pain that sin produces. God doesn’t want to chastise us but like any good parent, He would rather us experience short term pain than see us spend an eternity in Hell. How many of you, being a loving parent, would not chastise your little children if they were continually putting their lives at risk by playing fire or poison? Any good parent would chastise them because the parent understands that if the child were to keep on doing those hazardous things they would lose them forever? All of Gods true sons and daughters will be corrected by Him if we continue to sin. Hebrews 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Psalm 119:67 Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word Psalm 119:71 It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. Revelation 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Sadly, some people are very stubborn and will not give into the Lord’s correction. That is where the real tragedy comes from. NIV Proverbs 29:1 A man who remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed–without remedy. Proverbs 6:15 Therefore disaster will overtake him in an instant; he will suddenly be destroyed–without remedy. Hell is full of people that God continually warned and corrected but they would not heed His correction nor would they obey to His Word. It is good to be willing to obey God’s Word and change our lives so that we line up with His instructions. As you go out and witness you will encounter those who feel they know that their ways are right and they don’t want to hear you but don’t be discouraged. Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hear keneth unto counsel is wise. Some people, especially those who are puffed up in their fleshly mind with Earthly wisdom, will try their best injure or silence your passion for the Lord. You must not be intimidated by them and shake the dust of your feet and keep on going. NIV James 3:15 Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, of the devil. Matthew 10:14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.
Why do we all need to be compassionate as we witness to others? We once practiced sin ourselves! Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Our compassion should stem from the fact we too were once blinded by sin and darkness. None of us should forget that we used to do the same things that we now preach and teach against. That is a sobering truth. Even if you’ve never done their particular sin, all sin is sin. No one can boast, no not one. Therefore don’t be judgmental but tell them the truth without compromise in the spirit of meekness, considering that we too once lived in sin. Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Don’t get meekness confused with being timid. God doesn’t want you to be a timid witness because timidity is rooted in fear. Perfect loves cast out fear because fear has torment. God wants you to be bold but not condemning, He wants to be on fire but not judging, He wants you to tell the World that Hell is real but not sentence them to Hell, and He wants you to teach sound doctrine but not forget mercy and compassion. Matthew 23:23 Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone. The Lord wants us to teach aba lanced doctrine that includes judgment for sin, repentance, forgiveness, mercy, faith, giving and everything within His Word. He wants us to Love Him so much that we hate sin and to love our fellow man so much that we are always willing to show mercy. Micah 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
All Christians, but especially those new to the faith must learn about Jesus and feed their spirit by studying God’s Word. If you are going to be out witnessing and leading people to Jesus, you need to learn all you can about our Precious Savior. That’s why you must read the Bible, go to Church; Revival, Bible Study, Sunday school, Prayer meeting and other Church meetings so that you can learn the Word of God. God wants you to be knowledgeable in His Word so that He can use you to share the Saving Power of Jesus Christ with others, with boldness and accuracy. The Bible teach us: 2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Your pastors and teachers are there to equip you to do the work of Ministry. When we go to Church it should be to get equipped to go out into the World and witness Jesus to the lost sheep in this dying World so that they might receive Jesus as Lord and Savior. Church is the place we go to get equipped to GO OUT into the World to win souls and help the afflicted.
In order to be very affective I pray that the Lord give you a Kingdom mindset. A Kingdom mindset is when your attention is focused or fixed on advancing Kingdom of God through sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and winning the lost sheep of this dying World to His Kingdom. Notice that I did not say a Worldly mindset but a Kingdom Mindset. Too many believers are focused mainly on getting more stuff in this World and forgetting that we should be building our Heavenly Treasures first and then all these other things will be added unto us. The mindset that is focused on the material things and money cannot truly serve God but if our true focus is on the getting people into the Kingdom of God first, God will prosper us in this life as well. Nothing wrong with getting treasure in this World but let’s put the most important thing first and the most important thing is the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God is within each person that receives Jesus as Lord and Savior, so the souls of men is where the true Treasures are hidden and this is why we must value each soul. A Kingdom mindset will put advancing the Kingdom of God before the things of this World that are perishing. That is why Jesus said, Matthew 6:32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Now that you are born again, you are a Citizen of God’s Kingdom, a joint-heir with Christ and old things have passed away and all things have become new. In our old lives we promoted sin without shame; in our New Life let us promote the Gospel without shame. When Jesus first began to preach and teach us the Gospel He began by proclaiming that we should repent and receive the Kingdom. Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. Jesus talked about the Kingdom of God a lot and this is because Jesus was here to do the Kingdom business of His Father in Heaven. Jesus wanted us to know that the Kingdom of Heaven is our true home and He taught us the Kingdom principles that we need to destroy the works of the devil. Now God wants us to live our lives for His Kingdom and bring His will into the Earth realm, as at it is in Heaven.
Think about how far people will go to promote and cheer for their favorite sports teams. They will promote their teams on their cars; clothing and some will even paint their faces. They get together in large crowds to shout, jump, and cheer for their favorite teams but some don’t think Christians should passionately praise God in Church. If the World can be enthusiastic about sports, movies, video games, and clubbing, which will all pass away shortly when Christ’s Kingdom comes, why is it that most Christians are ashamed, afraid or reluctant to show the World they Love Jesus? Because they lack a Kingdom mindset and when Christians do show their love for the Kingdom of God with that same enthusiasm, we are labeled as religious fanatics or a crazy people. That is OK! That is how it should be, because these insults are motivated by Satan to try and make us ashamed of Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is why Jesus comforts His people by saying Matthew 5: 11 Blessed are you, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. If you are not making Satan mad then you are not a threat to his evil kingdom. This is why Satan doesn’t mind people cheering, promoting or being enthusiastic about the things of this World because they cannot deliver or save souls from Hell.
Satan is prince of this World so he has a lot of influence in the ways of this present World. As long as we are not seeking to win souls for the Kingdom of Heaven and not trying snatch people from Hell, Satan is ok with whatever you do. Satan loves it when people are so wrapped up in Worldly things that they are too distracted to serve God and they don’t have room in their heart to seek the Kingdom of God. My friend, make time in your heart and mind to seek and promote the Kingdom of God, after all the Kingdom of God is our home and we’ll be there for all Eternity. People with a Kingdom mindset realize that this World is temporary and pursing this World is foolish and profits nothing. Matthew 16: 26 What good will it be for a man if he gains the whole world, yet forfeits his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? God want us to value and pursue His Kingdom above all in the World. NIV Matthew 13: 44 “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field. 45″Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls. 46 When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.
God has a Kingdom of Light called Heaven and Satan has a kingdom of darkness called Hell. These two Kingdoms are warring against each other every moment of each day. Each day people die and enter either Heaven or Hell. The fact that countless souls are going to Hell each day, even as you are reading this, should be enough to show us all the urgent need for us to have a Kingdom mindset. Some religions even teach that there is no Hell; keep in mind that any religion that teaches that Hell is not real is a false religion. Satan doesn’t want people to know the truth that Hell is real and life is not a game. Satan doesn’t want people to know that he is at war with God for the souls of mankind. Satan wants the World to be blind to the truth so that they can slip away from God’s Kingdom and into the pit of his dark kingdom, Hell. There are people laughing and partying then dying and going to Hell every day. NLT Matthew 7:13 “You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way. This is why it is so important for us to serve God in this World, so that we can take as many others with us to the Kingdom of Heaven as possible. Jesus wants us to now become Fishers of Men! Matthew 4:19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
You need a Kingdom mindset so that you can see the value of each soul and this will help you become an effective soul winner. Friends, Jesus would have come to Earth to die for just one soul. That is a fact of His great Love for each person. Those who consider the poor, homeless, sick, downtrodden, prostitutes, castaways, drug addicts and all the misfits of the World as being no good are foolish. Each of them is very valuable to God and they are “Treasures hidden in darkness” that can be delivered by just “One Touch of Master’s Hand”. Jesus is in Heaven and He wants to use your hands to touch their lives. As you serve Jesus, your hands become His Hands. He wants you to see the value of each soul and if just one soul comes to accept Him through you, that my friend is worth more to God than anything in this material World. Since God would have sent His Son Jesus to die for just one soul lost here on Earth, don’t devalue your efforts for just one person.
If you don’t value the soul of each person, you’ll overlook some people that this World looks down upon. Remember when Jesus rose from the dead, the first person He appeared to was a former demon possessed-prostitute named Mary Magdalene and she was also the first human being to deliver the message of Gospel that Jesus has risen from the dead. What King do you know that would give such an honor to someone with no pedigree, fame or fortune? No King, but Jesus! This shows us that Jesus does not look down on anyone and He loves each of us immensely. That’s why Jesus is worthy of all the Love we can give because He loves each of us in such an unconditional way, so much that we cannot even fully comprehend it in this life. Our past means nothing to Jesus, He only wants us to repent and live for Him. A Kingdom mindset understands that if one soul is worth our precious Savior’s death on the Cross, one soul is also worth much more than all the money, gold, silver and precious gems that this World has to offer. My friend, that is the awesome Agape Love that our Heavenly Father has for just one soul. The fact that the Angels in Heaven start rejoicing over just one person who repents and accepts Jesus as Lord is evidence that God values one soul far more than our minds can fully comprehend. Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
When we are focused on the Kingdom Mission of winning souls, this brings God much Joy. The Heart of God is soul winning because God doesn’t want to lose one soul to Hell. He loves people so much and all He wants is for people to choose Him over this World and Satan. Your witnessing shows that you are a man or woman after God’s own heart. Keep Focused on winning souls my friend. You have been saved from Hell and now you must help someone else find the way, the truth and the life, which is Jesus the Messiah. Share Jesus with anyone you can. Where ever you are whether it is at work, at school, shopping, out eating, on vacation, or in your community just ask God to use you and He will. Never prejudge who may be ready to receive Jesus because only God knows the heart, just acknowledge the Lord and He will direct your path. 2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Be wise and know that it is God that does the saving; we are just there to plant seeds and water them with the Word of Truth. You will be rewarded richly for your work for the Kingdom of God. Whether people receive Jesus now, later or even if they refuse Him, God will still reward you greatly for your efforts. Heavenly Treasure beyond what you can even ask or think will be yours for all Eternity, which is why the Bible calls soul winners wise. Proverbs 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.
There are many creative ways to witness the saving power of Jesus. Some people want tracts but don’t know where to find them in their local area. Our Ministry has cards printed out on different color paper, like yellow, with questions like; Do you want a better Life? Visit www.nowsthetime.org. We prefer the cards because people are curious and often take the cards without question. We consider it as seed sown into their lives and whether they visit now or later, God will use it draw them and others to Jesus at the proper time. You have our permission to use www.nowsthetime.org to print your own cards for witnessing and be creative. Remember that the less you put on your cards the more curious they’ll be to see what it is all about. Less is more when it comes to witnessing so keep is simple
For instance here is an example below:
Our Ministry leaves these cards in restaurants, bathrooms, on cars, college campuses, and everywhere we can, we also hand them to people in passing as we feel led. There are also people that use our site as their Internet Gospel tract and send this website to others via email, feel free to do likewise. It is just like fishing, you cast it out there and God will bring in the souls. After you’ve done your part, the rest is up to God and He will always do exceedingly and abundantly above what we can even ask or think. Some people don’t know this but God will reward you for every tract or witnessing card you pass out. If the newspaper and yellow page companies will pay people to deliver their news and ads how much more will God greatly reward those who distribute the Good News of Jesus Christ. Keep that in mind so you will not get weary in well doing and think that it is a waste. The devil is lie, you will be greatly rewarded.
Now many of the religious and high minded will look down at your humble approach of passing out Gospel tracts or cards but God uses the foolish things to confound the wise 1 Corinthians 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; If someone isn’t out passing out Gospel tracts or cards themselves, it is easy for them to criticize your labor of love but pay it no attention. Satan will even use some fleshly-minded Christians to try and put out your fire for God. Just keep going and God will let you know He is well pleased with you. Don’t think it is a small thing to God,because it is a huge work and a wonderful expression of your faith and love for Jesus. Hundreds of Thousands or even Millions have come to know Jesus through the humble Gospel tract. God will use the small things to do Greater Works than we can even imagine. God loves the small Churches just as much as He does the big Churches and He Loves those who witness in the streets just much as those who witness on TV. We must all work together and thank God for each other because there is only One Church that Jesus died to purchase with His Blood and when He comes back for us He want us all of us to be ready. One should not devalue the other, nor be envious of another’s prosperity, for All laborers are precious and valuable in God’s sight!
God wants people to be saved above all else. Salvation is the Mission of Jesus. Once you begin to reach out to the lost, God will send Angels to work along with you, to help you and to protect you as do the work of witnessing for Jesus. Remember you are working for the Kingdom of God so you are not alone because God Kingdom of God is in you and all around you. The Angels love Jesus and they are eagerly awaiting us to get busy winning the lost so that they can help us. The Heart of the Father is to see people come to know Jesus as Lord and Savior so that they can be His sons and daughters and inherit the Kingdom of God. This is the reason Jesus came, to seek and to save that which was lost.
You must now take up your cross and Follow Jesus:
Luke 9:23 “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me”
Lu 19:10 – “for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”
